Google Introduces Canvas and Audio Overview Features to Gemini AI

Google has enhanced its Gemini AI assistant by introducing two new features: Canvas and Audio Overview.

Canvas: An Interactive Workspace

Canvas is a new interactive space within Gemini designed to make creating, refining, and sharing your work easy. Users can write and edit documents or code, with changes appearing in real-time. For coding projects, Canvas includes a live preview alongside the code, allowing users to iteratively edit while observing the immediate effects.

Audio Overview: Transforming Text into Engaging Summaries

The Audio Overview feature converts written materials, such as documents or slides, into podcast-style discussions between two AI hosts. This functionality was previously available in Google’s NotebookLM and is now integrated into Gemini, enhancing the way users interact with and consume content.

Global Availability

Both Canvas and Audio Overview are rolling out globally for Gemini and Gemini Advanced subscribers. Currently, Audio Overview is available only in English, with plans to support additional languages in the future.
